how do you know if you have metaic tint

I have decide to mount my v1 all the way up, by the head linear, and behind the tint. I have a 99 ford taurs. I have heard that if you look at it in direct sun lihgt, it could tell you, well mine is bright blue.

The easiest way to know for sure...

1. Mount your RD just below the tint strip.

2. Park far away from a door opener location such that your RD is just weakly yet continuously alerting to the distant door opener.

3. Move your RD a bit up so that its antenna is behind the tint strip and see if your RD still continues to alert to the distant door opener.

I forgot about that! A forum member showed that you could easily spot factory athermic windshields with polarized sunglasses, but I am not sure if this would work for spotting factory metallic tint strips.
