They can't, not with a radar gun, even with a Spectre RDD they can only pickup that you have one. Not what type or brand.

Yes and no. In Virginia, they are definitely used. CHP uses them to check to see if big rigs are using RDs, since they are illegal for truckers to use. Some members here have speculated that Texas Staties use them to pick off RD users with I/O. But most likely, it's not a concern.

I never really took notice of the Sti since I had owned the Escorts before, and considered them and V1 to be top of the line. Judging by the price of the Sti I'd venture to guess its right up there with the V1 and 9500i?

I'd say that the 9500i and STi are neck and neck, slightly behind the V1. Spectre immunity is huge in areas that RDs are illegal, like the east side of Canada and parts of Europe. Before the STi, those people had zero useable options. That's why it costs what it does.
