Overall the V1 is a great unit if you want to stay with window mount. If I lived in or near a state that does not allow Radar, i would go with the Sti-R. The Belscort to me may not be all that, but something has to be said about having a remote mount radar. My X50 was replace by the RX75. I didnt lose any sensitivity but gain a stealth install. I hate having the V1 on my windshield but dont have much of a choice.

I have run my detector in VA for years and never got a ticket for it. Not saying that it can't happen, cause it can, but just not a big concern for me (even before I got the STI).

And they arent going to take the RD from you cause you don't have to go to court, you can prepay. They can't keep it forever.

lol, ya the STI is still available and the RedLine may be the better choice.

I drive through VA on occasion and ether you should get a stealth unit or a GPS unit that you can quickly turn off with a kill switch. The few times i have used my 9500ix there it alerted to a few speed traps, though it was a pain unplugging every time i got an alert.

And of course the V1 is as always a good investment especially with a kill switch.
