Well everyone else will most likely tell you to use the search but i will give you a quick primer. 3-400 will get you in the range of the top windshield mount radars. The Valentine 1, the 9500xi the redline is also there but a bit more costly than those 2. As for whats better the v1 or the 9500 or bel, well the v1 has no gps so you cant lock out alerts so you get more faults, it has much better detection of instant on radar, and better range in my opinion.

poke around that site and see which one you think would suit your needs. I have a v1 and am happy with it but to each his own.

I starting looking for my 1st RD for the same reason after a ticket so you have came to the right place for advice. I can speak for the V1 & the Redline and both are excellent RD's. The V1 you can get for around $400 and it's the best windshield RD you can get (IMHO), but for another $100 you can get the Escort Redline which is also a beast of a RD and has a $80 trade in deal if you can find a POS RD to trade in for it. My belief/advice to you is IF you can't run with the big dogs then stay on the porch when it comes to RD's. So if you can afford it (given your 2 tickets I could see how you might be a little short on the mulah but in the long run you can save a bunch by reducing the tickets) get the best of the best RD's.
Also people on this forum are asking where you are from because that will determine which detector will be better for you either City or Highway and/or if Quick trigger (QT) is a threat for you or not. The V1 is a beast on detecting QT but will probably drive you insane inside the city limits and the Redline is just a little bit quieter inside the city (but not much) but does not perform very well against QT compared to the V1. So if your driving is 90% city and you very rarely do the interstate road trip thing then maybe the 9500 series would be better for ya.

Also don't forget about a good quality Laser Jammer because a RD does very little to nothing without a good jammer and might give you a false sense of security.

Hope this helps and Good luck on your next RD purchase.

Were both tickets from radar or laser? A RD won't help against laser.

Something I have learned on this site, which has been way, way more valuable than "which RD is the best / which RD should I get" is how speed enforcement measures work. Knowing the enemy's tactics is half the battle fought and won.

A RD only alerts to radar.
    That's all it does.
That's the only thing it does.
Like any other tool, the more you learn about how to use it and how it work, the more valuable a tool it becomes.

Good luck, and welcome to the forum.

X2. As members state, a RD is just a tool, that is all. With 2 tickets, you have eyes and a brain, use them. Look at the area weapons that are used against you. Do not drive stupid for a RD is a false security. If you drive/speed stupidly, Mr. Leo will get you in time. Study this web site, GOL, U-tube, other sites and learn how radar and laser works, then decide on what you need and if you want to take that chance. For the price and performance, you can not go wrong with the best over all, the V1, but you are not protected against I/O, vascar, laser, cameras, Leo eyes, etc.. With 2 tickets already, slow down and drive safely first for there is no such thing as a 3rd speeding pass...

That range will net you any of the top of the line windshield mount radars (if you're willing to spend a little extra for a Redline. Pretty much any radar detector over $300 is going to work for you.

I would personally recommend a Valentine One, but you should go with whatever works best for you after researching!

It does what it's suppose to do. It detects RADAR! Do all those things you just listed let off radar? Yes.

Only get an 9500IX if you don't want to know where a LEO is, and or want to lock him out and never know he was there. That is until you are signing your ticket.
