Default Trapster: Cannot Find Address

Has anyone noticed an inordinate amount of Trapster text messages where it can't find the intersection or address. It has a confidence of 1. I received like 3 today. Its from 'dispatch' and not trapster@trapster.com or whatever the regular text sender was.

I am in Flint, MI, but if it is the new phone system that they buddied up with then it should be affecting everyone.

    Anyone?

Unfortunately I don't have sms or gps on my phone so I don't use trapster or I'd tell you.

Sorry, I only use it in coordination with my Nuvi 200W, so this doesn't impact me, wish I could help?

What kind of phone do you have though?

I reported 2 live traps today, and when I received the SMS from them, they both said "cannot find matching address". Not sure if this is the same thing.

BTW I'm in the Denver metro area.

    P.S. came from do-not-reply@trapster.net

I guess a background for those unfamiliar...I have a circular region around Flint MI and rectangular regions along the 2 interstates that intersect in the town. I get a text message every time someone spots a trap in my region. They could only be reported using a formatted text message, giving the crossroads, to Trapster. They would then redistribute it to everyone with that crossroads in their region.

In the recent 'big' update, they teamed up with a voice company (the name of which I can't locate) to add a voice to text option, and then send out the text message. I believe this is where the problem lies.

Just checked...mines from trapster.com@Dispatch01.com. Otto, you are right it says that it 'cannot find matching address'.

I don't know what the problem is exactly.

    (I have a Samsung Glyde.)

Anyway, maybe the Trapster person will find this thread. I don't want to join another forum. (I didn't know stlouisx50 was just short of God on the Trapster site though.)

I'm just gonna use this thread as my personal note pad...

2 More CFMA's today. They seem like a pair.

Both were at 13:09:25, confidence 1, first reported (<- new thing?), but get this...one was from trapster.com@Dispatch01.com, and the other was from trapster.com@Dispatch02.com

EDIT: The problem is probably a redneck around here with some missing teeth trying to use the voice-to-text option and failing miserably.

Sent the following email to trapster:

    Having issues with SMS messaging of traps. For details see this thread;

    http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...d-address.html

    Thanks

    Received following response:

Chris, I tried to log in but I can't find my password on radardetector.net

I posted this on the Trapster discussion: Trapster • View topic - Text message "Cannot find matching address"

Additionally we had some issues with the servers this week, so that could have caused it, but now it's fixed.

Can you post that for me?

Sorry our account here was messed up. There is not "a trapster person", as Trapster is a mobile software company with support for over 500 types of mobile and nav devices, voice, text, etc. There is an entire team of developers across a wide variety of platforms. It also has a Web site but that is 1% of the complexity. Web sites are easy to make these days! Mobile is still extremely complex.

Anyway ... there is now a response in this thread about "cannot find address". That's a combination of a possible reverse geocode failure and maybe bad timing with some server issues we had.

It should be fixed now, and I just re-tested and the source of the SMS was not from "dispatch". I don't know why that showed but please let us know if you still see it.

If you have any other issues the quickest way to get a response is to submit a bug report at contact@trapster.net

Thanks for the reply! I'll have to give it a "test".
