Anyone ever seen this or have a desire to use it?? It seems pretty similar to Jimbonzzz program.

Interesting, I hadn't seen that...
I have been posting in another thread there about my software, and I've been busy working on some of the updates that these guys has asked for. But the thread had been pretty dead lately...guess I know why!
The mp3.com guys will probably be supporting this program instead of mine now, since he's a regular forum member. He also knows how to make his stuff work with the integrated environment that most of these guys are using, and his stuff will also be multi-platform. Guess he's been working on this for quite a while now, but since I released my software, maybe it lit a fire under him to get to work on his.
It looks pretty good to me. So now I'm not sure how far I should go with mine, why re-invent the wheel?
Jim
what are you going to do now with all this free time? :wink:Originally Posted by jimbonzzz

LET THE BIRTH OF MANY TESTING GROUPS HAPPEN!
You want to know what it is like doing something for the love and passion and not for the mighty dollar then look up GOL!
buyradardetectors rocks!
Using an in-car PC, you can view the V1's alerts by connecting to the V1 with a cable, it basically emulates the remote display.
You can really do all kinds of things, like add auto-mute functionality, log alert data to the PC, make the audio use wav files on the PC, etc etc. Basically, you have a software layer between the V1 and the PC display, so you can take the alerts and do whatever you want with them. I had plans to integrate GPS etc, so that it could provide functionality similar to a Uniden GPSRD, so if you got a false in one spot you would log it to GPS and never get a false there again...
Jim
I don't suppose either program can directly re-program the V-1?
If i could just incorporate the automute feature of my 8500, life would be good.
guess there isnt such a thing for the X50 users?
I dont see any difference between the two? Looks like he stole your idea!Originally Posted by jimbonzzz
Well at least the skin/background whatever. I been on mp3car before their was a mp3car.
I know mp3car pretty good. This new guy will more and likely give up. Thats just the way the board flows. I dont think he has plans for updates or new features.
So its all up to you Jim! Get a gps program going and you will be the hero on mp3car! trust me I know this!
that and/or port it to PocketPC :wink:Originally Posted by raresvx
For those with BMWs there is one really really cool stealth display I've seen. It is a device that allows you to integrate the v1 with the onboard computer, navigation system or radio.
It looks like this:
V1 linked to BMW onboard comp:

V1 Linked to BMW Nav System

V1 linked to BMW Radio

I've also seen a V1 stealth display that puts the remote display inside a rear view mirror.
