Which display?

Hello all from upstate NY..I would first like to say that this site is great...All the info i could possibly need is here...My question is this.I've decided on the escort 8500 x50,but i don't know which color :?: Is either color easier on the eyes?I plan on getting the directwire smartcord,but for now i am wondering if the red is easier on the eyes then the blue?

Does your car's interior (instrument panel) lighting red or blue? Go by that. Or just go by what you prefer. Red is easier on the eyes at night, but blue is the fashionable color now.

I have a dodge intrepid with the interior dash lighting being blue..

I would go with the blue then, so it blends in.

The blue display is a lot brighter then the (any) red display.

Pros and cons:

Blue(PRO'S):
-Brighter then any red display (X50 or otherwise)
-Easiest to see day OR night.
-Will not dissapear in direct light.
-Extremely cool. 8)
Blue(CON's):
-At night (depending on where its mounted), it can be distracting(Hard on eyes)... I have never had a problem with this, but others complain.
-50bucks more.

Red(PRO's):
-50 less then blue display
-'Easier' on eyes, and 'less distracting' at night.
Red(CON's):
-In direct sunlight it can dissapear.
-Not as cool. 8)

Thank you for the helpful info..I think i'll go with the blue since it's easier to see.We rackup alot of miles traveling between upstate NY and Maryland,and i would like the extra protection..So my plan is to go with the 8500 x50 blue,with the direct smartwire.And the laser shield combo..That's should give me all the protection i need..

Don't forget the Veil from Roy for your headlights, without that the Lasershield wont do much for you.

yea i think with lasershield and veil and the x50 u wont have trouble slowing down for laser ASAP

Just go with red it's cheaper and does the exact same thing! BLUE whoopie!

Red would be my choice. Neighbors have "blue" lights lining their driveway and they look horrible and are for me hard to see at night. Just a preference.
