Default X50 doesn't do as well on K band

I have had my V1 for about five months now. I tried my friend's Escort Passport X50 the other day and noticed it doesn't pick up the false alarms as much as my V1 does. I'm guessing if this were a LEO, it would have similar results. I couldn't stand not having the arrows when I used the X50 in an area I've driven a lot. Glad I have the V1.

I wouldn't neccesarily say that. It's called filtering. Also, the V1 does have 2 antennaes. But as I've read from alot of the V1 users, they like having all the pure raw radar information they can get

I'd rather have it filtered if it's 100% sure it's not a LEO. That's why I like the filtering of the V1 better than the old Whistler I was using. No random falses on Ka and Laser for no reason.

    I own both...

From my experience from real world encounters both are nearly identical normally (within 20feet of one another) switching back and forth on who is 'better'.

Well the V1 is regaurded the best K band detector there is and many tests say such, the X50 is from my real-world daily encounter experiences nearly tied.

If you were to make a judgement solely on test results, the V1 clearly dominates on K band. Look at the GOL.

As for real results, I have sadly had no K alerts yet besides falses. It defintely does pick up the falses a little sooner than my bell though.

    MEM-TEK

Ahhh its great to have real knowledge on this board, I have been saying for the longest time now how I have never been able to get my V1 to shut up in the city, and that the X50 had far superior 'filtering' in the city... I could never figure out why, until now.

THERE YOU HAVE IT V1 ZOMBIES the V1 is chatty in the city no matter what settings you choose to customize...

Ahhh I love the smell of ownage in the morning... smells like... VICTORY!

In all honesty Michael, that is a great piece of knowledge, if true, it could change the way people on this board look at 'filtering'. I have always wondered why the V1 was a bit more chatty in the city (no matter what the settings) compared to the X50... and that would make a lot of sense. Great information you bring to the board...

    STICKY!!!

(This could prove how there is a way to 'filter' door openers besides just frequency, in other words, it appears if MEM-TEK is correct, [and it sounds like he knows his stuff]... Belscort has found a way to filter 'door opener junk signals' without a huge (or any) loss with regaurds to police radar. For the longest time people have only looked at filtering by frequency and not polarization.

Wonder what Jim has to say about this?
