    Unhappy V1 Shipping Question

So I'm caving in and giving the V1 a 30 day test drive after reading about the delay in response on the 9500ix. That totally killed it for me What's the point in having defense that waits to tell you? The videos of the V1 vs 9500ix/ci show it.

So I'm going to do the checkout, and I have to check a box that says "I understand an adult signature is required on delivery." From my understanding, "Adult Signature Required" with FedEx is an option that requires the person signing for the package to be 21 years of age or older. I'm 18. Will this be a problem when it comes time to sign for the package?

I doubt it. I have signed for things before and I wasn't 18 or 21. I think they want a signature to make sure that someone at the address took delivery of it. My sister signed for my Rx65 when I had one and she was 16 at the time. You shouldn't have any trouble with it, especially if your name is on the package

One of the best things about the Escort 9500 series RDs is that they are USB updatable. The Escort forum and this forum have been littered with threads about this issue in the last couple of weeks. Escort has acknowledged and have expressed concern over my video that shows my 9500ci completely missing the I/O shot by my local PD. Hey, I'm a huge proponent of trying out both the 9500ix and the V1 before deciding on which is for you, but I kind of think you picked the wrong time to react to this problem. I personally think there is a good chance this problem might be fixed on the 9500s within the next couple of months with a downloadable firmware update.

While the USB updates are a nice feature, OP is not completely over-reacting. He has very valid concerns. It may take months for Escort to fix this. They may not fix it at all. It may be *impossible* for them to fix due to a design flaw.

Who knows? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, he can count on the V1, a tried and true and mostly unchanged RD, to alert him to any unit running radar, any drugstore, shopping center, etc

My V1 has yet to fail me, though I normally don't run more than 24 over the limit and know how to use it as one of many tools..

I didn't say he was overreacting. His concerns are certainly valid. Like I said, I recently discussed this video [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6jEu__l-h8"]YouTube - 9500ci Beaten By Quick Trigger Stalker II[/ame] with Escort and from what they're telling me, I expect a them to address this issue. Since nyjason13 is saying that the 9500ix's slow response time is the only reason he is spending the extra cash for a V1, I personally would have waited a couple of months or so to see what, if anything, they did to fix this problem. That's all. If Escort does nothing, which is certainly possible, then purchasing the V1 is by far the best option to solve this problem.

I personally have had a total of five instances(two alone on the encounter above) where either my V1 or my 9500ci has missed an I/O alert that the other detected. My 9500ci has missed three and my V1 two. In about a month of use, I also had one of the new Whistlers that boast about their quick reaction times also miss an I/O shot. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHR1zNgiuJQ"]YouTube - Whistler XTR-690SE Completely Misses Stalker Instant On[/ame] Based upon what I've seen running my 9500ci and another windshield mounted RD together(usually my V1) for over a year now, I now think that all RDs miss alot more detectable alerts than people realize.

i had the package delievered to my house in houston while i was in ohio. My brother who is around 15 years signed the package. So i dont think it would be that big of a deal and i do not think they require anyone to show their ids.

The V1 waits too. A bit less.

And the extra wait would not matter in 99%+ of times...

Mine was just delivered, nobody had to sign. If a signature is required all they care is that you have a hand to hold the pen with.
