    Default V3.789

I just got my V1 from Ebay today. The serial number says it's the latest update. It is pre-POP. The version is 3.789. I road around the Raliegh beltline and got one quick peap from KU and then nothing. I Then went past a mall and several stores and not a peap from any automatic doors. It could have just been a quiet day. I'm curious how this can be the latest update???

Is it programmed? Go through the settings and make sure it's set to defaults, then program it the way you want it.

Most detectors purchased used have something wrong with them. That V1 is so old that it's likely K band is dead completely and possibly KA. Call Valentine One and send it in for repair if it continues to fail to alert. If you didn't call V1 and verify that the unit wasn't stolen, then you better hope that it isn't, otherwise you just wasted $290 dollars.

This is what Valentine's web site says. It's confuseing to me being that there are several versions out after mine.

    Serial Number 3857330636
V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.8. This is our latest and best performer on both radar and laser with just one exception—it lacks POP Protection. Of interest to those who drive in Europe, the latest V1 version also has a Euro Mode.

I missed this part in the manual. Could you explain?

It's not in the manual, because Mike Valentine is evil personified.

Find your version and then go through the options one by one. Arrow up is the default. I bet you have bands turned off.

I would reprogram it to factory stock setting then run past some know false alerts. If it still does not alert you should send it in for a tune up! Then you will know that it will be good to go. Unless you want to upgrade but you are look at $150 as a rough estimate for your model. Question where do you have it mounted?

Is that something I can do with the buttons or do I have to send it in?

    Buttons,
If the programming has been changed on settings 1 through 8,
P will appear briefly in the bogey counter soon after V1 is switched on.
(after the lamps-on test, but before the Mode indicator appears)

How to enter the Programming Mode.
    • Starting with the Control Knob in the "off" position, Press and hold-in Knob and at the same time turn the Knob “on;” continue holding in the Knob until all front-panel lights are on (takes about 5 seconds).
    • Release the Control Knob.
