Default V1 and quick trigger radar

After plugging in my V1 wanted to see how it would react to quick trigger with POP off and on, using my Kustom HR-12 K band hand held. With POP off V1 failed to alert to the quick trigger all 10 times. POP on V1 detected quick trigger all 10 times. Leaving pop on for now on ,even though there could be more Ka falsing. V1 is blind to Q/T with it off.

Tested both front and rear antenna, results were the same.

Interesting, thanks for sharing this. I'm the type to just deal with the falses as well for the better detection of QT.

Your welcome, since X band isn't used where I live, turning off really helps. Rather deal with an occasional false POP then to be unprotected. Local police were pulling people over for speeding and wasn't getting any warning and I know my town doesn't use POP or laser.

Might want to get it a tune up.

Got a tune up less then 6 months ago. Not a tune up issue. POP off slows down the reaction time of the Valentine. Purchased in 2008.

Thx for sharing! It makes me feel even happier I have been running POP on! It seems that POP off slows the RT of any detector that has the ability to turn it off.

I run POP on as it is used here, and it seems that certain I/O responses are increased with POP on (from guns that are NOT MPH-Bee). I also run X-band as it has seen a recent revival after ten years of absence. I think this is going to become a trend nationwide in a very short period of time.

I rarely turn bands off because it only takes that one time for major suckage to occur. Then for eternity you will think "I have the best radar detector in the world, which could have told me about this alert from miles away and prevented this ticket, except I told the detector to ignore it. Well &$%#."

Has anyone tested the V1 against the Superbee III, or whatever it is called? (the one that does POP and locks a speed in about 16 ms)

This is interesting. Did you upgrade your firmware to 3.872? Nine_c1 has some videos where he did quick triggers with his V1 w and w/o POP on, and I'm pretty sure the results were almost identical. That's really odd that your V1 didn't pick any of them up.

I leave POP on just in case.

Firmware updated as well. Want V1 owners to beware of this. POP off is causing the slowing of reaction time on the V1.

I just played with a Bushnell and the V1. There is a big difference between POP on and off. I could easily get the detector to miss shots with POP off.

Been seeing this suggestion a lot lately. I may try turning it back on.

Where do the extra false come from with pop on? It false on automatic doors already. Will it just be more sensitive to weak signals and maybe false to these earlier and more often?
