    Default my RX65 IS JUNK!!

    i posted before about a selfcal and service required messege.....well its back!!!! tonighT it kept going off...this is a 2 and half week old detector..what POS...i thought it would go away but apparently its a stubborn POS

    i'm calling bel tomarrow and i dunno if i even want another 1!! maybe a v1 this time

    not yet...i thought it would go away ...IT'S GOING BACK TOMARROW THOUGH!

    it flashes randomly and then says selfcal after a beep...then after a few min it says service required...i'm guessing it can't recal itself....i dunno man but for $300 bones you'd expec t a working product!!

    Yeah just call Bel and get an RMA. Alternatively, you bought it at some big-box store right? Then just go and exchange at the store, hopefully you will get a fresh "untainted" model. That way no lapse during turnaround.

    Where did you buy it? I hope not Ebay! :cry:

    If you got it for Roy he would probably exchange it for another detector.

    i hesitaded calling bel..because i saw a post by radarroy and others...that says a voltage spike could cause the "service required" so i figured if i didn't let the ignition turn it on and off...that i do it manually i'd be fine...but i guess not ops:

    i might give one more a shot because.. like i posted before my area is like all Ka and the bels seem to be the best in this area

    That sucks! :cry:

    I thought Belscort had a timer chip that waited until just after your warranty expired before showing the error messages.

    Just send it back. Unfortunately, there are bad ones. Hopefully the replacement will work.

    Might as well contact BEL and see if they will replace your unit...If they give you bad service go elsewhere

    its 30 day money back..but will my next one do this??? should i say f##k the RX65 and get v995 or x50 or possibly the 1970s CB looking detector
