Have a read through the manual because it does describe it. Although LEO cannot adjust signal strength, they can manipulate the ability of your detector to detect early enough. For example, many speed traps will use natural obstacles such as a hills and turns. Some also like to find hidden spots and take the reading from an angle. You just need to be alert to your surroundings.

Ka radar doesn't scatter around corners like X,K radar and even the best radar detector can give little warning. Have seen police using Ka radar in areas where the beam is shooting in to an open field or area and there is no warning until you cross in to the beam and you get clocked.

I have never seen this on my RX65. The only time I see the falsing is when I am near an airport. Both Syracuse Airport and Rome Labs makes my Bel sound the laser alert.
