Well, i have a Rx65 detector and i just got it back from beltronics. They said that the problems i was having with it were because of heat. (they fixed everything BTW and gave me great support) I was just wondering if every time i leave my car should i be puting to detector under my seat in it's case. I have had my detector for almost a year and have never done this except if i felt my RD would be stolen.
Also i have been reading that it is best to mount your RD low, but i have mine up high. In my car if the RD is low i can't reach it because the bottom part of the windshield is very far from the driver's reach. Is this effecting my performance?

The low / high debate is mainly due to laser performance. High you have a greater chance of getting a scatter shot from cars ahead of you. The RX 65 is not great at laser so proabably doesnt help it too much mounting high. Not a huge issue either way. If its a pain to mount low keep it high.

You should take it out of the window when parked especially if you're in direct sunlight.

Well i have only been shot with laser once well driving on the west side highway in NYC, but i got a laser alert. It also seemed that the LEO didn't get my speed right away because he kept shooting me for about 3 seconds. Also i was speeding but slowed down as soon as i got the warning, and i didn't even have any veil at the time.

The Rx65 stays on for a few seconds after its hit by laser so don't read too much into the length of the alert. The Leo probably got your speed but wasnt interested.

Well he was shooting me for about five seconds i know because i saw him; i looked him right in the eyes! i was so close to him. Anyway who knows but i got veil now and will be getting a laser sheild soon.

If he was that close believe me he got your speed in less than .3 of sec. Even with Veil at close range (unless the Leo had the shakes) he got your speed.
