i'm not to worried about that. i don't hide my rd. it is in the lower center of my window. I sometimes worry about a cop saying how it is an obstruction of my view or some bs like that, but they are legal here so I don't worry about hiding something that is legal. no worries on that.
I don't hide mine from LEOs, I hide mine from theives when my car is unattended at an airport or big city hotel.

oh i see what you mean. in that rare situation when i feel the need to hide it i leave the suction cups on the window and hide the rd.

I replaced my factory suction cups with slightly larger cups from Home Depot.. The larger cups do not fall off. Ever. I'd suggest upgrading...

The suction cups do overlap slightly (ie, the edge of one cup sits on top of the other), but regardless, it is still a vast improvement over the tiny things they ship with!

    Default my observations

hey guys, Ive had my rx65 for abaout a year now. I have noticed that whenever I take my rd off the bracket and tuck it away the cups let loose and fall during the absence. When I leave the rd hanging no problem.

My observation is the cups require some weight on the bracket to keep tension or suction. I have experimented by hanging sunglasses or simular heavier objects from bracket when rd in in glove box and it usually works. so experiment and you will see (sunglasses are a little light must be equal weight to rd. example multiple washers taped together etc.)

ps ace hardware or true value hardware typically have the suction cups around the counter area in containers. usually for hanging dream catchers or things on glass windows IE: there the same cups.

    bye guys.
