bel 940 and bel 985 questions

any difference worth noting between the old 940's and the newer models?
my 985 speaker died and i ordered a new speaker to replace it, but picked up a new 940 in the mean time.

if i am able to repair the 985, which would you use as a primary and which would you use as a backup?

Should be located on the side of the box.
