opinions on bel 985 vs bel 940

well the made a new version 940 that looks different and apparently has a extremely well POP system in it which seems to be worth having just for the POP, well at least in Texas

POP is a good feature to have, draw back have notice that over all detection range sufferes when POP detection is on.

wow i had no idea that it caused my range to decrease, do yoou have proof of this or can others back this up?

There has been comments through out this forum if you call Bel they will also tell you that you get better range with POP detection turned off I also turned off safety detection. The less things your radar has to look for the better it will perform. Make sure POP isn't used in your area or places you travel. Factory default for POP detection on Beltronics is off.

ok thanks, when i talked to rep at Bel he said it will just give me more falses but what your saying makes sense.

Your welcome I'm not sure how much better range with POP detection off? Also there is less falsing with POP off.
