Running STI with City NO X mode?
Guys, I have had so many freak'n false signals I have run the STI for almost a month now with only the City No X mode. Does anybody else do this? Does it reduce the K or Ka range detection?
I haven't noticed any degredation in performance and it is a much quieter ride going down the interstate and in cities.
As far as worring about getting hit by a X band radar, the only place that I know still uses X in a State Trooper capacity is the motorcycle cops in Flordia and some municipalities use it.
I do this in the city and its very quiet... whats your driving area? In Ontario we're surprised by the x band use and not just in the smaller northern areas
Where do I drive? That is a B I G question. Coast to Coast USA and this past week I went from N.Carolina to Michigan and back.

IN Michigan from what ive seen you don't have to worry about x band radar man as they have pretty much done away with it here and gone to ka,k,pop,laser and thats a priority list...most commonly used to least...

Michigan is also heading fast towards ghost car operation... so watch out they like to use silver/grey crown vics and caprices... with not even markings on the doors no light bar... and they love to hide behind overpasses here on the side of the highway and in the median... i saw another state police ghost car just yesterday totally black impala even the spot lights on the side of the mirrors where black no chrome at all totally blacked out!! He was using instant on k band radar and didn't hit three people infront of me and hit me at about 100ft away i thought dang!! Im telling you if i would have been speeding I would have been done for!!!!
There getting dang good in michigan with there instant-on radar/ pop radar... sneeky too!!

Yeah, I was in MI Friday through Monday. Friday morning about 2 AM and incoming North bound at the 1st exit on 127N my laser went nuts. I was going 68, so he wasn't lighting me up, but he came out behind me and rode there until exit 5. I thought at first I was toast, but if he was lazing me, he would have got me at that speed.
The only reason I was running 68'sh was because I thought for sure they had the new 60 mph signs up, but not yet.
I have had two tickets in Mi, all before using RD. Once in 2001 and the other 2002. Both were laser tickets. They use it big time. More than any other state I know.
