STi and V1 working together?
Just for fun I tried turning on the V1 and the STi at the same time. They seemed to play together very well. I noticed the alert times were about the same. Sometimes the STi would alert first, other times the V1, so as far as I can tell these 2 RD's are VERY, VERY close in performance.
The filtering on the STi in city mode seemed to be a bit better than the V1's L mode. My question is, do you think the RD's are interfering with each other?

I wouldn't run the two in the same vehicle if you are depending on them for protection, there's a potential for interference both ways. The V1 certainly leaks enough to interfere with the STI. And even though the STi is low-leakage enough to defeat Spectre, as we know it still leaks. V1 is much more sensitive than the Spectre, so even the low leakage from the STi might present a problem.
I was running them at the same time purely as an experiment. I wouldn't trust running both of them for protection as I am sure on some level they are/could be interfering. But, I must say they did seem to play together very well. Thanks all!

Your not suppose to run two radar detectors at a time this can cause interference with each other and may cause the detectors to park during their sweep. Read link below.

The possibility of interference is pretty large. But running these two units in particular wouldn't present nearly the visible effects of say a Cobra next to a UnidenThe STI and V1 have pretty similar detection ranges and the STI has a fair bit more complex filtering algorithm than the V1. Running both at the same time as a detection team somewhat defeats the point as Spectre will see ya
i run them both at the same time. the sti with X and K on, both with Ka and laser on. i owned the V1 first and no notice of it preforming any differently with the sti running along with it. i know the areas that set off the Sti's X and K alerts and no difference in reaction time with the V1 on or off. they both light up at real Ka (never gotten false Ka) alerts with PLENTY of time to slow down.
...just wanted to add, i know NJ only uses X band. i never had a Ka alert in jersey, but i drive to connecticut every weekend. i have no choice but to drive through NY to get there. so as i'm crossing the GWB, i turn the X off on the STi. NY and CT don't use it anyway. the STi sometimes alerts to Ka 2 seconds at most to real Ka, but the V1 alerts me wayyyy in advance if its behind me. both units are awesome together and never had an "E" or "service required" or anything. guess i dodged that little software problem V1 was having. why do i run them together? only reason is that they look kool along side each other. i plan on getting Blinder when i get a new car in spring of '07. Dodge Charger, baby!
I run my STi and V1 together alot and I never ever have a problem, same with the RX65...it is interesting to see what alerts first, 3/4 of the time it will be the V1 but the STi gets it somtimes.
