STI in Calgary, or rest of Canada —*Future Shop maybe?!

I live in Toronto, so the STI it is.

I have a local source that can get new units directly from Beltronics for CAD$660, tax included. That's pretty close to what the thing will be from Roy after exchange, express shipping, and taxes are figured into it, minus the shipping hassles and the wait.

Only thing is... I just cashed in a few VISA points and now have CAD$400 worth of Future Shop gift certificates. Are there any Future Shops in Calgary that sell the STI? My family lives there and I figured I'd put these to good use.

Anyone recommend a local Calgary retailer that might have a good deal on the unit?

Given that radar detector is legal in Alberta, there's not likely any incentives for the stores there to stock STI when the premium you pay is for undetectability by Spectra RDDs.

I made an impulse buy at a truck stop in North Carolina this weekend. Good price, but it's old firmware, A1M7. I had a bunch of US cash that needed spending, instead of getting raped on the exchange should I have deposited into the bank.

I guess there's always a firmware update. But how...?
