Beltronics Ramp Up Bar

Im sure some of you have noticed, that when ever a X or a K band is detected, 2 bars is illuminated, but when a Ka/Ku is detected, it starts off at 1 bar. Ive noticed that the added bar during a X/K alert is a filler for where the a would be....ask in Ka, or Ku. Ive looked a numerous pictures and noticed that 7 bars are noticable when a "single" type alert is given, and 6 bars when a "double lettered" alert is give. It seems that the extra bar is a filler for where an extra letter would be, thats all. Ive noticed a bunch of us on here dont really care for the double bar ramp up in X/ K. Just an observation, what do you guys think?

haha yea it kinda does, but hey, they could have come up with more retarded ways for it to ramp up, lucky its what is its, lol......just think of how it could be.....

I have gotten 1bar and even K1 with my Rx65. I ddin't know that that was unusual.

The non-ramping audio is a bigger problem than the bars, IMHO...

I agree. The audio alerts are distinct enough to know the band right away, and the audio ramp up is good enough to know how close. Visual confirmation is required only in the initial 'getting familiar with the rd' stage and when new alerts are encountered (POP, IO, etc).

Audio alerts keeps the driver's eyes focused on where they need to be - the road. I've turned off voice on my rd and love the automute.

I get 1 then 2 and so forth with K band :? Could be my AU/NZ spec STi though :wink:
