Someone Please Tell Me!!!!!!!

Someone please tell me why my radar detector wouldnt go off if a cop was running radar? Because my Pro RX65 didnt go off, I got a ticket, 84 in a 65. I'm not really complaining about the ticket, its the fact that my radar detector didnt make a single sound. The cop was using a Kustom unit. He showed me my speed. The cop was cool about it! He even let me mess with my radar detector, cause I told him I had one but that it didnt make a sound. Then of course he gave me the line "you should have spend your money on something better." But, he turned it on for me again, and my detector still wouldnt go off. He even caught someones speed to show me it was on. But my detector wouldnt make a sound. But, for some reason when I went back to my car, it was going off. I dont know. I'm really pissed off that my radar detector didnt go off. Someone please explain to me why it wouldnt go off? What could be the problem? I asked when his unit had been checked to be working properly, he said earlier that day. I just dont know, I'm just really pissed off about my radar detector. Suppoedly the 2 best radar detector and it dont even make a sound. It just makes me so mad!!!!!!!

could be out of tune. Send it in for repair immediately

well, i honestly dont care for it anymore. It has pissed me off and didnt even do what its suppose to do. I know its not suppse to prevent me from getting a ticket, it should atleast just let me know i'm getting one, but it didnt even do that. And I dont have the money to get it repaired, cause aint that $85? I'm just not got gonna speed anymore, or atleast not for a good while. But, it just pisses me off!

Sounds to me like another textbook case of why detectors should be purchased from authorized dealers, NOT from ebay.

Did it show "Service Required" or anything like that?

He might have use the stopwatch mode. It works like vascar without using the antenna. The Kustom Eagle units have this feature. The unit calculates the speed. I suspect that he did the stopwatch mode to clock your speed (you won't hear a beep with this feature because it calculates time at a pre determined distance from point A to point B) and showed you that it was working while you watch him giving you an example in stationary mode. When you went back to your vehicle, he turned on the radar unit in stationary mode and that triggered your RX65 to go off.

NRT, did you hear your RX65 go off when he gave you a demo of tracking other vehicles or were you too far from your vehicle that you can't hear your RX65 go off?

If you don't know how to use the kustom eagles, the officer can fool you. It's just how it happens most of the time - If you know you are guilty, most of the time you don't question LEO's statements.

Yet people are still looking for a deal even after we have told everyone to never NEVER EVER buy a radar detector off Ebay....There is so much fake products sold on ebay passed off to be the real thing :roll:
