    Default highway, city, or autoscan?

what mode has the best ka sensitivity?

and what's the difference between each mode. such as autoscan and city.

i've tested all three on a speed sign and they got about the same distance, but would one of the three be better for picking up ka. i'm mostly driving around the city, but its orange country, not like a super crowded city.

I live in upstate N.Y I think that Highway mode, USA, X on, K on, pop off,( i don't belive they use it were i live) sws off, laser on. works best were i drive. I was running with X off then tried it with it on and think it works better. Have had no luck with autoscan or international mode. they seem to hold out or filter a long time before warning you. I drive around 100 to 120 miles a day. Mostly interstate. I have 1 to 3 hits a day. Most of them are 34.7 some 35.?. All i can say is try it and see how it works for you.

I live in Orange County as well(the Florida one, at least :P )

I would just leave it on Highway. It seems that the other two modes like to wait a tiny bit for the K and X(Ka maybe?) to reach a certain threshold before they alert.

Ka sensitivity is not affected by any mode. The unit is always at full sensitivity for Ka.

alright, well where i live i mostly use K, speed signs and stuff, and Ka is used for radar guns. so should i just keep it on autoscan? or is one of them best for long range detection or high sensitivity of ka?

Most people would just leave it on Highway. Or, if it seems to make a difference, you can leave it on City mode. As someone else said, Ka is not affected by any of the settings. If you are worried of your unit alerting to K band signals, like a Speed sign or K band openers, then all of the modes will alert to them since these items, unfortunately, fall within the police band K.

Most people try to stay away from Auto mode, but if you find that it suits your needs, keep it. Remember, whatever works for one person may not work for another.

Run your unit in Highway, that will ensure the best performance against K band. If you are confidant that the police use Ka only then run in Auto.

City, Auto, Highway, do NOT affect Ka sensitivity.

Ka is always at MAXIMUM performance level.
