Could someone help a newbie and explain why the V940 at amazon

Not sure the links will last.

The Amazon one seems to be the older model. Differences:
- older round power plug vs. the newer RJ-11 style power plug
- older windshield mount vs. the newer windshield mount
- inverted display option on older model
- AutoScan & City All options on older model
- no POP detection on older model

Thanks. At least I now know not to order through Amazon and get stuck with the older model. Seems strange that an older and newer model of anything get the same product number! Did they run out of numbers? :?

The older 940 is better. It's essentially a 985 with fewer firmware features.

POP is a debatable feature. Most have it turned off anyway. Looking at the differences, the older one may actually be better. The prices in the links are in the same price range, so the older one is not a bad deal. At $100 'inventory-clearance' price, it's a great deal.
