The V1 still detects my MPH Bee (in Euro mode) at 33.8 so from 34.3 this is quite a big range compared to the original 34.3 + - 75Mhz
That's a pretty wide "narrow mode." I'm glad that they've fixed up that issue.
Did this affect range at all? Surely having a greater range to scan across reduces its effectiveness???

Also, what does automute do on the belscorts? I haven't noticed a difference having mine on/off. Does it just mute the alert after a given period of time?

From my testing it didnt seem to effect range at all - Still getting fantastic multanova detection... and yep automute mutes the alert after a specific period of time.. around 3 seconds i think??

    Default Settings - PERTH

Thanks for all the comments, few more if I may....

    1. Has anybody in Western Australia actually confirmed a Pop hit i.e. RD went off and the police were sighted? Trying to weigh up whether switching it off is worth the expected slight sensitivity advantage for those pesky Multanovas....

    2. The STI looks pretty snazzy, vertical and up high, beside the rear view mirror near me, unobstructed...has it ever come off for anybody...thinking whether I should switch it to the passenger side of the rear vision mirror..rather it hit their head than mine

    3. What are peoples thoughts on Autoscan for Multanova's? Veil guys blog believes there is a slight increase in Ka performance.

    4. Automute function on the STI - if it starts ramping up will it not automute? Trying to figure out whether I want this one off or not...

One last thing...Murphy's Law...day I got the STI, there were some cops using a handheld (not sure what) maybe 500 metres from my home (they were on preston point road)...being shocked as hell I drove past (they were facing the other way) went up and picked up some lunch and swung back only to find that in those 15 minutes, they had buggered off elsewhere....

    1. Has anybody in Western Australia actually confirmed a Pop hit
No, i did have it turned on with my RX65 for some time before i found out that POP isn't used in WA. Some have reported getting a POP false in Perth but i haven't heard of a real alert.

    2. has it ever come off for anybody
hahaha rather hit the passenger, i guess that's fair enough!!!
My RX65 and X50 have never come off, a bit of saliva and pushing the suction caps till u hear the air 'pop' out does the trick for me. I haven't touched my mounting bracket for months.

    3. Autoscan for Multanova's?
No idea about Autoscan increasing Ka range, seems counter intuitive since highway mode is supposed to increase sensitivity.....

    4. Automute function on the STI - if it starts ramping up will it not automute? Trying to figure out whether I want this one off or not...
Hopefully someone will help us both out with this

When i first got my detector i didn't see a cop car, camera or handheld for weeks! Let us know of the results when you run into a multanova / cop.

Apparently Autoscan filters down the X (off anyhow) and K. See the link.

Hmmmmmmm . . . interesting. I wonder what some of the more experienced guys think about this ???

Only problem with regard to the multanova is that as Veilguy states 'Autoscan filters down X Ka and non-essential ka' (essential ones being 33.8, 34.7 and 35.8 )
So according to this the multanova @ 34.3 would be regarded as non essential ka, so it too would get filtered down... not good for multanova detection.

Good point - I assumed as the multanova range within those, that it would act akin to the V1 Euro mode? Maybe not...

Wouldn't that be nice haha. I think the difference in range would only be marginal.

With my RX65, i couldn't notice a difference in terms of K falsing or Ka band detection by changing the scanning mode.

The X50 is far more sensitive on K band in Highway mode than in autoscan or city. (more sensitive in terms of picking up automatic doors that is  ) I'm yet to have a real k band alert, seriously thinking about turning it off, all i get is falses.

Try your STI in autoscan and highway when you see a multanova, i doubt the difference will be noticeable (maybe due to to other factors like traffic and scatter etc). Good luck!!!

Just this morning heading onto the freeway, there was a cop with a handheld, targetting cars about 200m before the speed change. Sneaky bastards they're always there.

I was thinking great!!! Get to test my X50 against laser. But just as i was approaching him, he put the gun down and pulled the car in the lane next to me over. Bugger!!! That's twice in a week now, i guess it's a good thing they're not targetting us GGG

Maybe they are a good luck charm!

I have been looking for Multanova locatons in the paper and they are all North of the river or atleast 30-40 mins away. Maybe they interchange b/w south and north (I live south).
