Spectre III dectector on STI - great Idea!

Well I've got the STI and love it but just like anything else in the world I always want more.

I was looking around a couple of nights ago at Radar detector reviews and realized the Cobra can detect Spectre III.

I would love it if the STI could do this! I'm always curious to see what the OPP is up to and besides it would also serve as another way of detecting LEO's.

Think Beltronics would ever do this?

The A1M7 (first version) of the STi can detect the Spectre III at very close range. STi would alert Ka when very close to spectre.

That was their CLAIM and it was the Spectre I, not III.

This was debunked at the 2005 SML test. It didn't alert at all, and the Cobra was detected over 1200 feet away...

I remember some Cobra's can detect VG-2 interceptor (and it does it well, remember this video ).

It would be nice if Cobra could make a VG-2 and Spectre detector as they are not good for radar detectors

ops: Yeah the claim was for a Spectre I. (I used to be CanuckSTI_User but I messed up my login)

I wonder what sort of leakage a Spectre III has? It has something if it sets off a Ka alert. Doesn't sound like it'd be too hard for Beltronics to detect it on purpose. They've already done it by accident!

I've had my A1M7 go off with what I assume was a Spectre III alert. Found an unmarked OPP car around the next corner with the Spectre hanging from the windshield.
