Default Lowes and Winn Dixie, K-Band?

Today my RD alerted to K band due to motion sensor door openers. Once at Winn Dixie and once at Lowe's. I thought all of these were x-band! Can anyone fill me in? I just want to make sure my RD is working properly. Two-day old Bel v965. Thanks.

K band door openers have been increasingly common over the past 5-6 years or so. Older ones used X, but it seems like all the newer ones use K.

I started noticing K band door openers polluting the airwaves back in 1999 I believe. It was a shame, because I had just bought a V1 that allowed me to lock out X band and was almost false free until the gas station next to where I worked installed some new doors, and alas, they were K band.

    Lowe's is K Band.

The only door opener I've seen recently that's X is K-Mart (it's not a super K). Although I get both an X and K alert from it... so iono if there's another door opener near it emitting an X.

Thanks everyone. I just wanted to be sure. I have picked up a few X-band door openers on older grocery stores around here all of which are over 10 years old.

My local grocery store (Giant) as well as the CVS use the "Stanley" door openers which have the K band signal.

Our Supermarket Detectors have also kept up with the times. Hopefully, they won't move the motion sensors to Ku. I wouldn't know what to do if I had a Twinkie emergency in an unknown area.

That would actually be a blessing if they moved them to Ku. Since its on its way out (unless you buy into Cobra's hype) so far as traffic radar is concerned, a transition to Ku would eliminate false alerts due to door openers.

Maybe someone should give Stanley a hell of a deal on Ku band transmitters for their door openers.
