Default disapointed with STI, constant falsing on x band.

alright, i did my first trip with my new sti,

kind of mad cause i never saw 1 cop, but i did run into a "your speed" sign. now this detected as a k band alert and gave me just over a 1 mile warning. not to bad, my x50 would pick those up a 2-3 miles.
but anyway, 1 mile is okay im happy with it, i mean its undetectable right?

what im very mad at, i was getting constant x band alerts, like every 10 minutes. near underpasses, and sometimes in the middle of no where.

I was testing the unit, on a highway, with steady traffic, in the praries. no stores no nothing around. just fields.

    i put it to tech mode, the codes i was picking up where x band 10.572, 10.573, 10.575, 10.578, 10.582, 10.585

    anyone know what these are?

also, when running your STI do you run it on Autoscan or Highway for when your on the highway. i switched it to Autoscan it seemed to ignore some of the falsing, but not all.

yea, it was getting terrible annoying. i almost wanted to turn off x band,

i have done that same strech of highway with my x50 and never once had an x band problem.

and it wasnt in that specific order, it was those numbers, back and forth and stuff but like, i bet in a 4 hour drive, i had 30-40 falses.

What else do you have operating in your car? I remember reading a while back how some devices can set off a RD.

GPS, cellphones, laptop/wifi, some other stuff.

its hooked up directly to my ignition on the hardwire kit through the fuse panel. i did a nice clean install,

my friend did have a Blackberry in the car, so maybe that would do something. i had a cb radio on for a while, but turned it off and still maintained the problem.

i will have to try it again next time.
im not sure what else could cause it, i had no other electronics?

should i leave it in autoscan on the highway?

You need to send your STi back or send it in for repair.
The X band LNA is oscillating causing all of the weird X detects. That condition will also knock your K and Ka sensitivity down the drain.

Well, let's see, according to the Visions web site, they will exchange anytime within 30 days of purchase, or refund $ within 15 days of purchase. So I guess you need to get your STi boxed up and return it to the store you bought it from????
