My Sti was scary quiet too, but i did encounter the Albertsons and checked out the ramp up... Also i did run into a short KA-band but it was dark and i could not locate the source. Also i had it in Standard mode at the time.
Well here is an update. My STI was in "TEch Mode" and as a i was headed down a long hill i get a weak 33.8 hit with my friends X50. Not a peep with with the STI. Note that the cop was using CO on the other side of the hill. I then turned off the X50 and turned the STI off for 5 seconds "to reset" then turned back on and went toward the cop and still no alert. I then turned my friends X50 on and it Alerted...
Welll i guess there is still a 33.8 bug all the way up to units produced the 26th week of 2007!
I just sent it back to Beltronics and returning it for my trusty V1. Although personally may be uglier and does do its job perfectly! Maybe when bel comes out with something new i might try it.... Either that or wait till there is a proven 33.8 bug fix!
