any success on fixing speaker on old Belt vector 985?

I have read some post but they were old ...I need to try to get my Vector 985 to work as the jerk who sold it to me wont reply.....


If I can fix it I will if not then I will be buying something else soon......

I have had three speakers go out on my unit. this last time I called Beltronics and told them about the poor quality of their speakers. They are sending me a new one free of charge and will let you know when I get it if it works. I have already opened the case and doesn't look to be difficult at all.

Got the new speaker today. After installing it the unit still does not work. All functions are ok except no voice. Conclusion is that the problem is somewhere in the circuitboard. Talked to Beltronics Tech Dept and they said the samething. Options for me is to send back for their repair at cost of shipping and $85 service charge or get $80 trade-in on new 995. Took option 2 and the 995 will ship today. Looked at getting it at CC but have to pay tax and no $80 credit. Hope this helps you and good luck.
