Thats why you order from Beltronics directly.... Plus the only way to get the(30 day test drive) is directly from Bel.

I suppose if Bel ships directly from the factory rather than from a warehouse, they could flash their old stock units with the fix, but what do you want to bet there will be a period of a few weeks that people will still get the unfixed version from inventory, even direct from Bel?

I suppose those of you who have ordered direct could report your unit's date codes, to see what their inventory turnover rate is, and base future STi purchases off that.

Also, when people return their units during the 30 day trial, does Bel update them to the latest firmware rev. before shipping them out again?

No. They told me they don't resell them but I believe this is exactly what they do with them. The returned ones have to go somewhere if they work and Belscort is not going to lose the profit.

I ordered and received one last week, hoping it would be a 2707, but received a 2607. I promptly sent it back and simply asked them for a 2707. It was used for about 10 minutes of driving just because I was curious to see how it behaved. In other words it was brand new when I returned it, though the rep told me they would not be able to sell it is new.

They asked me why I wanted a 2707 because "it was a very unusual request." I explained about the update, and that it didn't matter whether there was an update or not, I wanted the 2707 build (because I wasn't about to argue with them).

If enough people order one with 2707 and specify why, maybe they might take a hint. Or not.

The one I sent back should be there today so if I don't receive the new one next week I will call and start bugging them. If they don't respond, I'll just ask for a refund. I already have a 9500i also on trial that is working fine.

Been following the board for a couple of weeks now, but this is my first post here. I received an STI just yesterday and the build date is 2607. It shipped Monday. I'm doing the 30 day test drive right now, so I'll probably send it back before the 30 days is out. I've had Escort's for many, many years and spent a couple weeks deciding between the 9500i and the STI. I want to test out a 9500i as well.

i believe ordering directly from beltronics like today you would be getting a unit for 2-3 weeks ago.

This week is the 29th week of 2007 and i ordered my STI last week and got it thursday well it came with a build day of 2607...

So in essence its about 2-3 week difference form the day you order it...

Personally if i were to get another STi i would wait till atleast the end of this week or next in order to recieve a 2707 unit.... But whos to say there actually is a bug fix???????????????????

I'd wait on both the STi and 9500i for a couple of solid months. I'm hoping the 9500i ramp up will get fixed but not holding my breath. I just don't understand why they don't understand. If all Bel/Escort products had the X50 ramp up it would be one less thing to complain about.

You can't go wrong with an X50 or Valentine One (for now).

I am new to this forum and have been reading the issues with the STi not picking up 33.8 frequency. I am in the market for an STi so I called Belltronics CS today. I asked them about the "bug". First, they did not know what i was talking about. When I pressed the issue and my concerns the CS agent put me on hold. When she came back she said that the issue was fixed on June 19th according to her information. My question is if I order a STi today what guarantee do you think that this has been fixed and will I get a "new version". I need to install this as stealthy as possible ( Ontario, Canada) as far as mounting goes. I do frequently travel to the U.S.. on Business. I saw on one of the Austrailian sites that they have an STi unit that is installed under the hood in an enclosure with a remote. What chances are there for us in North America to see this type of product and when? Should I wait or get one now and take my chances?

Well based on the Info from ROY and Jim, they said that the fix wasnt going to be in units up untill ones that were produced in 27th week of 2007. This week is the 29th.... So iwould personally wait a few more weeks to gaureentee you get one of these units. Also one of the higher up people from Beltronics adviced roy that bel was going to keep the fix under wrap and not say anything about it. (announced fix).

Or you could just specify you want a 2707 as soon as they are available, as I did.
