so whats the deal with the STI KA Fix ??

How do i see the manufacturing date on my STI ?
when reset it just shows A4M9
also do we need our original invoice for the firmware update ?? ive long since lost mine (bought nov-dec 06 i think) altho i did register it with beltronics when i bought it....do they have my records ?

Manufacture date is on the label under the unit.

i get that but how do i know its updated when i send it in ?? mine is 4006 on the label.

Your STI was produced on the 40th week of 2006... If you send it in, they will not chnage this number, they will simply flash it with the new firmware fix and send it back. Make sure when you send it in, that you wanted it fixed for the 33.8 bug fix and to update the firmware to the lastest version.

Well thats why you switch to a product that works untill time proves that yes indeed there was a fix. Also its ALOT ALOT less expensive then to continuesly send your RD for updating. Shipping is $$$$$ :idea:

Agreed. You only have one option and atleast you made a good one.. Glad i dont have to worry about Spectre.. Although not illegal in Texas, i have seen 2 "spectre 3's" in Texas State Trooper cars next to their Stalker DSR 2X ka-band units. :shock:

are the build dates on the outside of the box anywhere?or is the box sealed-up when new?Was thinking of getting a flea bay(12V wiz) one since bel wont sell up here,and would prefer to know without having the box rummaged through if possible

The outside of the box has a serial # but not a mfg. date, at least on my RX65 box. I would assume the STi box is the same. Maybe someone with a brand-new STi could PM you their serial # and you can ascertain it from that.
