just purchased a bel rx65, haven't got it yet, but was

curious to see if I can update the firmware on it myself? It's suppose to have 6.3 installed and will do the power up test when I get it. Also, for those who have this radar detector, does it do a decent job filtering out the false alarms around the banks, stores, etc??

ya, i have a 6.1, i think it does a great job. it is defiantly quieter than my v1, and has great range on all bands

If it's a new RX65 it should have 6.3 on it. You can't update the firmware; you'd have to send it to Bel.

xrs9430, what do you think of your RX65 on K band? Have you ever compared it to your Escort? Mine's weaker on K than my rev 5 X50.

ya, compared to the 8500 or v1 it is lacking slightly. but in the real world it will usually be fine
