Default STI Falses with Autoscan ON

I have autoscan on mostly all the time.

I'm from NJ and we're the mall/stip mall capital of the world.

I was hoping the autoscan would filter out most of the mall falses, however I notice no difference between autoscan and highway.

It's really starting to get very annoying. I know you just need to suck it up and learn the falses, however it seems lately it's all I hear.

Any help is appreciated. It's the latest firmware (Pre- 33.8 Fix)

The STi in Autoscan mode filters out moderately strong multiple X band signals, but only filters out rather weak multiple K band radar signals. I am guessing that all of your falses are on K band. The STi's City mode more strongly filters out multiple K band radar signals. Give City mode a try. City mode will do a fairly good job of quieting down your STi around those malls and shopping centers.

On the other hand, the 9500i's Autoscan mode strongly filters out both multiple X and multiple K band radar signals. Even without using the 9500i's TrueLock feature, the 9500i in Autoscan mode is by far the quietest radar detector ever made for use in cities and suburbs.

Note that Autoscan mode on all Belscorts does not affect Ka band sensitivity at all.

When in Jersey I typically use City/no X unless I'm travelling on the Interstate or the GSP.

Yes you may still find X in use in parts of NJ but I prefer my sanity.

NO, Ka sensitivity is never reduced as Ka is always a real threat.
