Default Trading my STi for a new 9500i (blue)

Love my STi, except that its very, very noisy/chatty. I have a lot of regular K and X band door openers I pass on my daily commute and it's starting to drive me crazy. I read over on the Escort forum that Belscort has fixed the ramp up bug on the 9500i and that sensitivity has been increased. So, I'm giving the 60 day free trial a go. My STi was updated by Bel for the 33.8 bug fix, so that's fine. But I'd love to have something close in performance, with correct ramp up and locked out known non-LEO radar sources. So if it my test goes well, guess I'll be looking to sell my STi.

Where in Jersey are you located?
I travel to Jersey quite frequently primarily in the gateway region.
With Xband off in either highway or autoscan I've found the STI to be surprisingly quiet.
Every credible threat I have encountered has been KA 34.7 and in the towns of Fairfield and Wayne they are quite frequent.
Being in NJ there is no real need for an undetectable RD. If I were in that position I would have bought a V1.
I took a trip down to Atlantic City and the detector was dead quiet from the Oranges all the way down to AC.
I was second guessing wether the detector was actually functioning till I made it back to Fairfield.

Doesn't NJ use X band quite severely?? I don't think it would ever be wise to shut off X band in NJ. The 9500i would probably be a better choice. The V1 would be even more chattier than the STi.

I'm in north/central NJ. Police in many towns along my commute use X band exclusively (not in instant on thank goodness) as do the state police in many areas. Not possible to shut X band off in NJ.

That may explain why my RD is so quiet in some areas.
I need to change my settings then when driving in NJ. Thanks.

Do any of you from New Jersey have camera equipment? I would LOVE to see a video of a constant on X-band real LEO encounter with a gradual ramp-up, preferably open highway, but I'd settle for less. So far on the forums here, I've heard of X-band being used a lot in New Jersey and North Carolina. I wish I had been into this stuff about a year before I got into it. I was in both of those states on a few of my long distance drives. It definitely would have been nice to see a real LEO X-band encounter. Anyone?

Just received it today. Let the games begin! Will use them side by side for a while and see if the performance matches the STi without all the noise....
