Default rx 65 fixed 3 times

it was now fix the second time in a year and i had the flash the firmware from 6.1 to 6.2. I got it back and the k band still was not working very well so i sent it back a third time after 2 antennas that were replace now they replaced the main board. I got it back with firmware 4.5 and works excellent on k and ka range test I have done. the s meter is not ramping up like it was on ka band. DO i NEED TO SEND IT BACK AGAIN FOR A FIRMWARE FLASH?? ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS??

I wouldn't if your unit is now an S7. It sounds like they replaced the entire electronics with one which has the S7 horn. The latest firmware number for the S7 platform is 4.5 whereas the latest firmware version for the M4 horn is 6.3 as I recall. I have a S7 V995 version 4.5 which I bought in late March of last year. Even though its ramp-up isn't as intense, its performance is excellent -- especially in off-axis encounters such as around-the-curve.

Just curious, but which FCC ID does your radar detector now have on its sticker (QL4G1S7 or QL4G7M4), and is its serial number still the same?

Are you saying that the internal board has always been the one labeled rx65 (pro2 S7), and that the sticker has always been labeled QL4G7M4? Did its box also say QL4G7M4 on the side of the box too? Thats just not right, assuming that you bought it supposedly brand new from an authorized Bel dealer.

Oh, you lucky lucky dog! Bel completely replaced your RD's entire horn/board assembly with an S7 horn and board assembly! Thats why your RD's display now says that its firmware version is 4.5. Yeah, the ramp-up isn't as strong as with the M4 platform, but you will find that the S7 platform generally has somewhat better off-axis sensitivity. The S7's less intense ramp-up will take a few days to get used to, but once you do I think that you are going to love the S7 platform's overall performance.
