    Default Installing A Detector

Should it be low just above the whippers or high near the rear view mirror?

    Which works better?

High near the rear view mirror works better for most cars. What kind of car and what radar detector?

What if I have a sun protection strip high on my windshield, should the detector then be placed just below that?

Nah, it shouldn't matter. In fact, the V1's documentation on this concludes it's a net win to mount in the tint strip.
