this is probably a stupid question, but what is the difference between the standard and fast power on sequence? why isn't fast the default? is there any benefit to the standard power on?

sorry to be a *** but try searching next time its already been answered:

basically the answer is no need for standard start up besides to familiarize the user with the different alert tones for the different bands (stick with fast afterwards as there is no need to take that long to power up)
