Hmmm.. Makes me wonder *if*, with all the advances in technology, it might be sensitive enough to detect POP. Considering the Whistler 1734/44 did not claim to detect POP, yet still picked it up, perhaps Bel is on the same track? Wishful thinking, but what the hey...

Speedy-car, glad to hear that you like the unit.
Please keep us informed on performance I know others like myself are looking at this unit and want to hear any feedback you can provide!

What all came with the unit?

Boomerman - when I looked at the package at Radio Shack, it was really simple: the radar detector, power cord (coiled, RJ11 connector) and windshield bracket. I didn't see a visor mount.

Interestingly, the weight of the 795 is very light. Almost made it feel toy-like, similar to the Whistler 1744. My 985 seems to weigh twice as much. Seems odd though - is the new 995 also slimmed down weight-wise?

The package is like Al wrote, there is no windshield bracket. The unit is very light, I did look inside, they put a lot of digital electronics in it-not the old stuff. From the patent listing I found out, that the unit has a self-calibration receiver, so it can compensate the aging of the electrical parts, no need to send it back to beltronics.

You mean no "visor" bracket, right. There was a small windshield mount (suction cups).

Speedy, are there still the "distinct" audio alerts for each band? And, are they the same sounds as the other Bel units?

Shure, I ment the visor bracket. The audio alerts are different for each band/laser. As I can only only compare to my 745, they've changed a little,
    but cleary to distinguish.
