KBAND ALERT FOR REAL!!!!!

i was thinking that K band was for door opener lollllll

i am new to this..........

i had some K band alert in my small town and was thinking that it was door opener because no LEO near .

LEO have KA band radar IN THE CAR. in my town.

but today i had a K band alert almost 3/4 miles on the blvd.

SURPRISE : LEO with a radar gun in is hand , hiding behind i big sign near the road , pointing at cars ........and 3 cars(leo) 140 feet away :ready to start at someone.

is all radar hand gun (not connected to car) are K band or this radar is a old model?

My local county sheriff's department is still equipped with K band radar units, and the local town cops are more or less evenly split with K and Ka radars. K band is far from dead in a lot of smaller towns and very rural counties.

Believe it or not where we live in NJ the local cops still use X band!

ty for your information , btw i live 50 milles north of MTL , QC Canada. in a

small town , they have a K radar , KA , and laser, as far that i know. a PO said to me that they dont have RDD.

anyway i did not take chances in case they buy RDD or i go in a other town.

it is illegal in QC , Canada to have a RD.!!!!!!!!!!!

K band isn't that rare. The OPP use K band almost exclusively.

There are both K band and Ka band handheld radar units, though the K band tend to be older designs.

What province are you in that you're so surprised to see K band?

K and Ka band radar units can be handheld or fixed mounted and is still widely used today.

Time has changed.

When I was in high school, circa 1996, with my old Whisler, X = junk, K = cop, never ever picked up a Ka band.
