I was curious if anyone knew what platform the 975R is based off? Any idea how it performed, as far as I know it not made anymore.

I think some of the 975r's are S7s and some are M4s:

Previous versions with s/n H00xxx were based on S7 platform, newer versions with s/n Azxxx ,BCxxx ,HH05 and up,have M4 platform.
Bel975E andBel975R is still in production and they sell lorry loads of them to Europe,it's just not listed anymore on Beltronics website.
Bel975 is one of the BEST RDs EVER and the latest versions (s/nAZxxx and BCxxx) are even better at detecting Multanova 6F,MultaRadarC,Mesta210...and other EU radars. There are many accesories for Bel975,like RDD filter(add-on or custom built),Horn extensions and there's even official Beltronics/Target horn extension aveilable, but it's only sold in EU.
I see here a lot of people talking about how the STi-R has insane sensitivity, without even seeing or trying STi-R in action.
Fact is that Bel975 with horn extension beats STi-R almost everytime.
Horn extension? You mean like extending the length of the reciever horn an making it wider as well?
Hi,
here is the sti-r in action, is the bel 975 remote better than sti-r?
K-Band range: 750m (highway) and Ka-Band range: 540m.
My V1 Ka-Band range is 260m max.
What is the range of bel 975 on Ka?

Yes like this: TARGET ANTENNA BOOSTER|BELTRONICS|COMERCIAL CHAMEN - los precios mas bajos en electronica Andorra - FOTO DIGITAL, VIDEOCÁMARAS, ANTIRADARES, PDA'S, CAR-AUDIO los mejores precios con 25 años de experiencia como tienda real .
This is official Beltronics/Target horn extensions. There are also other very good horn extensions with -20dB/cm2 gain, from Flitsservice.nl or TodoRadares.com,some are even combined RDD filter(dual bandpass)+horn extension, like this one from Enerby (Netherland). It's so well made/calculated that it's not polarization sensitive and makes no difference if the antenna of Bel975 or Target966 is mounted horizontal or vertical.See here: Information Enerby RDD Filter
No,I said that Bel 975E with horn extension is equal and many times even better than STi-R.That was proven many times by TodoRadares forum members.Look at this chart,it shows how strong Ka signal must be to trigger the alert(Ka1).STi-R is the yellow line and Bel975E with HDR(horn extension) is the blue line.Originally Posted by radarroger01
Wow... That is cool looking!
I wonder if any other RD makers have done something like this?
I wish I could get a more modern detector with one of these...
