The same situation happened to a friend who is using Bel Pro RX65 v6.3...I don't remember if it was K or Ka alert. It was a false alert and he restarted it to stop the annoying sound! It happened only one time. Also, as I remember, that day the weather was very hot
Very strange, indeed![]()
my STi locked up on k band once .........and hasnt done it since......
Here is a weird one for all of you. My STi is an A4M9. Last fall while returning from TX to GA I encountered a cop using instant-on Ka in a small town. My STi automuted the first Ka blast, yet by pure coincidence and at the exact moment that my STi stopped responding to the first Ka alert, the cop blasts Ka again at another car. My STi, after automuting the first alert, must have been just about to un-mute the speaker. When the second Ka blast occurred, my STi muted the already muted speaker again and the result for this second alert was dead silence! Has anybody else encountered this rare automute bug in their STi or on any other Bel or Escort products which feature Automute? So far this apparently very rare bug has never cropped up again since the timing for the second radar blast must be just right in order to trip up the Automute algorithm.
I don't think it's uncommon Mem-tek, I have experienced the same thing several times with my V1....I mean after I have manually muted a bogey......
