Default STI Save - I/O and Laser - what the heck?

Going up a hill and get a Ka threat = 4 on STi. I quickly slow, but watch as it faded away...I sped back up to about 15 over. I knew I should have slowed creasting the hill, in case it was instant on...but was in a bad mood and just didn't.

I got another Ka = 7 just before I topped the hill, and knew he was running I/O. I stepped on the breaks quickly... dropping to 5 over...and then he hits me with his laser gun too!

Did this guy really wanted to nail people or what?

He did scare me though as he pulled out 2 cars behind me. But, went to a diabled vehicle about 2 miles up the road.

My bad mood quickly turned to good. STi saved the day again!!

nice save, if you ever get a threat and its ka never ever do that. Bad mood or not, you'll end up being in a worse mood. Especially ka, thats always a cop always.

Nice though, luckly you got that second alert.

The locals in my Father's city do this. They run radar, then verify with laser. It makes for an untouchable court case.

Yea, I realize that, but had just passed an off-ramp, where there is sometims a suburb cop who likes to sit and get people coming off the highway. So I was thinking it was his off-spray...stupid assumption. Those usually have that exact same pattern: brief 2-4, then off.

But lesson learned...slow until I go over the next hill or around the next corner just to be on the safe side!

The funny thing is I can't understand what actually transpireded in his car....to use the laser but not give any tickets???

He must have gotten a radar speed high enough to warant using the laser...but, then why wouldn't he give a ticket on the radar alone when his laser yielded nothing on me (thanks Blinder)??

Unless he was unsure whether the radar speed was me or the car just after me, because by the time we were in sight I had slowed to similar speed. And then my Blinder held off his laser until I was totally in the clear??? so, he didn't know which car to pull over???

I'm not sure, but I feel like the luckiest boy in the world!

I've been hit with weak Ka while running in a pack at 10 MPH over the PSL then hit almost dead-on by the oncoming LEO. No body even touched their brakes. I've even been hit when I've been alone running 8-10 over the PSL and the LEO watched as I went by and never flinched. And I've had quite a few Ka and follow-up laser hits. This has happened to me a LOT in Illinois so frankly, my guess is that they're looking for reckless drivers and those well over the PSL. Of course, I HAVE had numerous saves from my STI when I was "well over"...
