So the question is......does the lockout use the radar signal strength as one of the deciding factors of when to alert while in a locked out area?
It uses the signal strenth to decide the lockout radius.

So far my 9500ix has locked out everything it should, and I completely disagree with anyone who says it does not work as advertised. It does, 100%. It might not work exactly how YOU want it to work or how you THINK it should work, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do.
If the OP's scenario applies to the 9500ix and 9500i as well, that sucks, but how come nobody has gotten a ticket because of it? The 9500i's been out what, two years? Even worse than the above scenario is the V1 alerting to 4 K bands each and every day at the same spot and then the one day a K band cop is sitting there you don't notice because you're so desensitized to the V1's noise ... which happened to me and yes I got a ticket (beat in court, but still).
Regardless, assuming it's true and it's possible to beat the GX65 and 9500 series, wouldn't a simple fix be to override Truelock when multiple signals are detected at a locked location? For example, if a door opener is locked and then the detector detects another signal where there should only be one (even if it's the exact same frequency), it alerts no matter what? Frankly I'm surprised it does not do this already ... the Belscorts have the ability to detect multiple signals.

Yeah I let my 9500ix and it blocks out the door openers but when their another signal near it allways alerts to k band I guess it's smart enough to realize that another signal present and alerts stronger since it picks it up at about a mile away. Autolearn works great for me.
The problem is how do you get your detector to know the difference between the 24.150 door opener and the cop with his 24.160 gun? The detector is a crude sloppy spectrum analyzer , not a $50,000 lab test unit.
We shot a radar gun at 3 detectors in spec mode. All three were giving different readings as to the frequency.![]()
I would agree, but the door opener in the morning when its 40 degrees out compared to later in the day at 90 degrees may make the frequency drift. So you cant lock out an EXACT frequency, you have to lock out a block of +/- a certain amount which is what Im sure they did. They need to narrow that amount way down.
