Faulty Ka band on V955?

I just recently got a V955 off of Ebay, and it was used for under 3 months. When trying it out, I found that I was receiving a lot of Ka band warnings.
The owner records no dropping or trauma to the unit.
Should I send it in to Beltronics?
They said that they could not honor the wtee for the unit because I got it from an "unauthorized dealer."
I thought that there may be Ka band faulses because on my commute I had atleast one bar of Ka band for atleast half of it.
I bought it for 69.00 and now a 60.00 charge for a repair just seems a little ridiculous.
Since this is my first high-sensitivity radar detector, am I just being a little too worried about the sensitivity? Or is that amount of Ka band falsing a bad sign and should I send it in?

It should not do that. Have you tried it in another car? Does this happen in the same spot everytime?

You get what you pay for: Don't buy another RD off ebay... lesson learned.

That is not normal, I agree with DJ... try it in a few cars, if the problem persists you need to send the unit in... I bet the unit is broken, because there is a reason why it was $69, not ~$169 like they are supposed to be.

This unit has probably been used a lot longer than 3 months? What are the last 4 digits on the S/N sticker, assuming it still has one?
