Well, apparently recent STi's now include the new ramp-up fix firmware, but I am still looking for further confirmation of this. And nobody knows the starting production date code after which the STi includes the new ramp-up fix. I will see if I can find out anything.

Anyway, all STi's can be upgraded with the new firmware which includes the ramp-up fix and all previous fixes and enhancements. Yet the displayed firmware version will always still be the same since the firmware version merely indicates whatever specific components are used inside that particular STi. The LED displays, for example, are available from a couple of different manufacturers and have very slightly different specifications for their maximum brightness, or which might require very slightly different programming or timing changes. So Bel's engineers simply tweak the firmware to properly adjust and control the display and then assign a new firmware revision code for STi's which use this particular display model.

Thats just one example, but the point is that you can not tell what firmware features are installed on any given Bel/Escort RD model simply by looking at the firmware version. You have to go by the manufacturing date code instead or by the service date on the service card which accompanies the RD after it was returned from being serviced. Thats why I always save my service cards after I send in my Bel/Escort RDs for firmware updates.

An STi with the new audio ramp-up firmware code now runs like a precision fine oiled machine.

I would think females would have alot lower rate since most cops are guys and welll they get off easy
