Well, we are waiting for your report about how you like your new STi. I figure that you are out driving today and trying out your new puppy.

I have only been detecting cops on curvy highways and city roads. It seems to work really well. The distance between detection may not be like a mile a away, but it seems to give me at least 5 seconds to slow down before I spot the cop.

It's really funny since this is my first detector, I've always wanted to avoid cops. Now, I'm just itching to find cops to scan me.

Yesterday on my way to work, my Ka band started to beep at me. I'm not sure how to interpret these bands yet, but I spotted one of those expensive police Dodge Chargers a few seconds later. It was one of these So I am guessing more expensive cruisers use the KA band, and regular police cars just use the K band. That's what i've seen so far at least. I am guessing those Chargers maybe equipped with spectres too. Good thing I had an STi .

But overall, I love it! Something about having a little countermeasure (not foolproof I know) over the police gives me the warm fuzzy feeling in my stomach. ahhh

I showed my RD to my girlfriend though. When the K band went off when we passed a door opener, she said "What did it say? Cave man?" Now I can't hear anything else but Cave Man... when it comes on... yea she's not allowed in my car anymore for buzzkilling my K band alert.

I can't wait to try it on I-81 to test out the range of this baby.

Sounds like your new STi is treating you nicely. Cool that it's your first RD too, it's a VERY pleasing feeling to know where the threats are at. Last time I checked Cave men didn't have access to goodies like this !

That is a riot! A good while back another forum member posted that his girlfriend thought that his Bel was saying "cave man" too.
