Default STi Driver and TV Remote

Hi, I've heard every alert from my STi except laser (so far) When I use my tv remote and aim it at my Blinder M25, I get an alert. When I aim the same remote at my STi, I get nothing! Is this right? I checked in the settings and Laser is turned "ON", so I don't know, could something be wrong with my RD? Is it because I'm using a TV remote? I know they're not effective against Laser anyway, I just would like to know the STi is functioning properly. Any help would be appreciated.

I had grab all of my remotes and press lots of the buttons until I found one or two buttons on a couple of the remotes which would set off the STi's laser alert. Note that I would not get an alert if I held the remote either too close or too far from the STi. I recall that the best distance was 3 to 5 feet away.

It just goes nuts and says "laser" ...from my experiences the STi does not alert to laser over 800-900 feet...only real defense is jammers

I tried it against both my RDs with a variety of remotes and got nothing but funny looks from my family. I'm told there are certain remotes that will set of laser but apparently none of mine do.

If you want to test laser find a friendly LEO, drive through a toll booth, or buy a laser tester.

I have the M-20's and the reason any remote will work is when you turn the Blinders on there is no filtering for 30 seconds, it then makes a beep and the filtering is activated making it harder to set off the unit with a false source. I have a feeling the STI also has some kind of filtering system for laser that is always on which makes it harder to activate the laser alert with a remote.

Got mine to alert LASER with an RCA remote, just tried it yesterday

It only alerted with the POWER button from the remote, and only at certain distances/angles

As far as I can tell the STI offers no value in lazer detection in an auto. I'm still waiting to get hit on my bike, which belive will atleast alert. But all my riding area is ka and ka agresive hilly terrain where the sti has been outstanding on my motorcycle.

In my truck I use in the city Big lazer use there, never has the sti alerted to lazer

I think on the bike being the the rd is just above the headlights I will atleast get an alert.

I have gotten false lazer alerts on the bike heading uphill into sun light

    This makes sense.
The sun emits IMMENSE amounts of every type of radiation on the spectrum.
Infra Red being included, especially being that infra red is just outside(on the low end) of the visible light spectrum.
