Default Got a ticket with my STI Driver

Today, I received a ticket on KA 35.47.., so 35.5; The unit never beeped once. I entered the highway from and onramp, and there was an officer on the highway doing a speedtrap from the rear! I only got the frequency, because after he pulled me over and gave me the ticket, the STI Driver detected the radar. If he didn't use his siren, I wouldn't have known I was being pulled over (no RVM). Looks like I'll be getting a V1 with a cheetah mirror to keep it quiet, since I doubt the 9500ci or sti-r would've received the signal. I'm just glad it happened in the 30 day return window.

Instant On 35.5 is very hard to detect by any detector :/

It didn't give me enough notice from the front either. There were times where I would see the officer about 1000 ft and then at 750 ft it would go off, I believe in those cases it was C/O, not sure though, the officer could've been trigger happy.

Always enter the highway in an unassuming manner and check your surroundings, same as changing between any streets. Having the mirror will also help you be able to identify the marked and unmarked unit possibilities. He wouldn't have even needed radar if he was already moving, he'd just need to follow you for a little bit to get a good "pace"

An RD is only there to help situational awareness not replace it.

I've seen them parked under an over pass runnin rear radar and tagging vehicles as they entered the highway in front of them from the rear(same in your case).Getting sneakier and sneakier.

That sounds like a problem with your STi, possibly the K/Ka band LNA isn't working, and that would kill the STi's sensitivity. Trust me, if the cop shot you with I/O from behind and was close enough to get a speed reading on your car, then your STi, if working correctly, should have alerted.

It's weird because there have been times where I slam the brakes, and I'm like where is the officer on KA, and then I never see them. Also there is a spot near my house when I would turn and it would show KA 34.7, but never find them. There is also the times where it would alert me to Constant 34.7 with CRAZY notification, but whatever guns RI state police are using for I/O 35.5 they are very tough to detect!

The Bel STi usually performs well against straight on and from the rear 35.5 especially off axis 35.5. The Valentine One performs well against straight on from the front or straight on from the rear 35.5 but off axis 35.5 is where the Bel STi usually beats the V1. I hate to inform you of this but by no means am I biased. I like both units. Heck my Bel STi came in handy this past weekend in VA and my V1 came in handy in OH.
