    Default Caught with RX-65 :-(

Hey guys, i was driving in North Carolina and a state trooper sitting on the onramp got me 91 in a 70. Nothing went off on my rx65 and i was surprised. I thought that this thing gave me 360 protection?? Is there something wrong with it or are there settings that are not right? i dont what happened

360 protection should read like 360 degrees of possible detection. 1. The trooper could have used a very quick shot of radar and not set your detector off. 2. Laser-detector didn't pick it up. 3. He could of used the vascar method.

The rx-65 or any other detector does not make you invisible like the box says.

He probably used laser, which is hard for RDs to detect. Did you see him when he clocked you? Was he holding a handheld unit up to his face, like he was looking through it? That would be laser.

What does it say on the ticket?

Also, I've heard they use X band in NC so if you have that turned off, or had the detector in City No-X mode, it won't detect that band.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

And it was probably shot from the rear which makes things harder.

In most states, if he gets you with radar I believe it has to say that on the ticket. Is there a 'radar' checkbox on the ticket?

I always visually check the onramps for parked troopers as I go by.

Me too!! Never know whats lurking from the rear. The V1 is the only one to give you true rear alerts.

You got caught going 91 in a 70 in North Carolina? Ouch...
I'm guessing the LEO was using laser or vascar like others have said. Were you the only one on the road?

What road where you on? They use X in NC, was X detection on in you detector?

You have a decent detector as detectors go, but it's not a license to go 21 MPH over the PSL in every circumstance. Search for "instant on" and "rabbit" before you go hauling ass again.

360 degree protection is a stinking load of BS. Any RD except the Valentine One only has a horn(s) facing frontward, and any signal you pick up from a source to your rear is because the radar waves reflected off of something in front of you that the detector could 'see'. Your detector also has a small plastic piece on the top that leads to a "light pipe" that is supposed to allow the laser sensor to pick up laser from the rear and sides but that barely works and you can't rely on it.
